Or join in the Fishing boat ride to Samiopoula Island well known as “the pearl of Samos” and enjoy the captain’s BBQ on the beach.
You can always have a try of catching some of your own fish from the jetty, a popular fishing spot with the locals.

There are organized bush walks to Pythagoras Cave, for more vigorous a two hour walk up the mountain Kerkis with it’s steep ravines and numerous caves, you could visit the Monastery of Evagelistria and pick your own aromatic herbs available only on high altitudes.
In either sides of Balos beach with only a short climb over the rocky cliffs you could encounter small but very private beaches where could enjoy a swim on your favorite style.

You can visit the city of Samos which is in an amphitheatrical way built in a deep bay, the small but excellent archeological museum where you can find one of the most significant archeological collections. You also can visit the new built and quit interesting archeological museum in Pythagorio.
A tour or a daily excursion to the small village of Samos and the contact with the nature will make you feel peaceful and relaxed.

For the fans of sports and adventure there is the possibility to break the waves and the strong wind by having surfing in Kokkari or dining in Pythagorio.
For those who desire other excursions, there is the possibility to visit other nearby island such as Fournoi and Ikaria, the small but picturesque Samiopoula and why not neighbouring Turkey, especially ancient Efesus and the open market in Kusadasi.
